Do you push people away to self-protect? In my experience, a person pushes people away because they have locked down a portion of themselves so they are not able to be hurt. This happens to so many people who have been emotionally hurt, abandoned, neglected or given up for adoption.

When a mother and baby are separated or the baby is given up for adoption, it sends a message to the baby that they are insignificant or worthless. The baby is so hurt that they decide they won’t let that hurt happen ever again. They grow up self-protecting.

This also happens to anyone when a trusted friend, family member or co-worker gossips, betrays, stabs you in the back, manipulates others to be against you, or creates second hand offenses. The person who is gossip stabbing usually is very insecure, manipulates to be loved, and needs others to fight their relationship battles. They need to feel they are above another person in order to feel good about themselves. This stirs up strife between friends, family or co-workers.

If you have been targeted in this way, please get help because the hurt will rob you of a fulfilling life. Being alone because of self-protection isn’t the answer. Being abused because someone is insecure is uncalled for and ridiculous. Call me for some help today.
