Some of the reasons you struggle developing friendships may be because of emotional wounding from your past. Examples of wounding are:
- Rejection and/or abandonment
- Your parents didn’t bond to you or love you
- Your friends have hurt you
- You self-protect by building a wall around yourself
I’m sorry if any of these events happened to you. But I have a process of healing. Sometimes it is a difficult but necessary process. Not developing relationships will only make things worse.
Relationships are important. They make life worthwhile and worth living. There will need to be give and take in the relationship and a wall around yourself prevents any true connection. Don’t let your trauma prevent you from developing meaningful relationships.
